Sex ratio among tribals better than general population: Ram Nath Kovind

 

President Ram Nath Kovind on Sunday said people can learn a lot from tribal communities where there was no gender-based discrimination and as a result, the sex ratio among them was better than the general population.
Addressing a state-level ‘Janjatiya Sammelan (tribal meet)’ in Damoh in Madhya Pradesh, Kovind said in tribal societies, groups are given importance over individuals and cooperation is encouraged instead of competition.

 

He also said that tribal communities are treasure troves of traditional knowledge.

India-France Naval Exercise VARUNA Begins

The 19th edition of the Indian and French Navy bilateral exercise VARUNA-2021 carried out in the Arabian Sea from 25 to 27 April 2021.
