Madhya Pradesh recognition clause for sports bodies to be scrapped

A day after withdrawing recognition to 54 national sports federations (NSFs), the sports ministry has now requested the state government to end a clause that says only associations and players recognized by the sports department are eligible for awards and medals.

Recognition from both the game’s national federation and the government is mandatory for sports associations. Athletes of state sports associations recognized by national federations are eligible to participate in national tourneys.
