With Rs 1,400 crore grant, Ken-Betwa link to take off in Madhya Pradesh
The much-awaited Rs 44,605 crore Ken Betwa link (KBK) project expected to take off after Union ministerNirmala Sitharaman‘s announcement about it in her Budget speech.
The project will irrigate a large area of Madhya Pradesh andUttar Pradesh, she said.
The project in the drought-prone region ofBundelkhand, spread across 13 districts of Madhya Pradesh and the poll-bound Uttar Pradesh is expected to benefit more than 9 lakh hectare farmland of the backward region. “Implementation ofKen-BetwaLinking project at an estimated cost of Rs 44,605 Crore is to be taken up with Irrigation benefits on nine lakh hectare farmland,” Sitharaman announced. The finance minister said that an allocation of Rs 1,400 crore has been made for the project in 2022-23.
The finance minister also said that the project was expected to provide drinking water supply to about 62 lakh people besides generating 103 MW of hydropower and 27 MW solar power. She said that five more river-linking projects were under process and the detailed project reports (DPRs) had been prepared for them.
The KBL approved by the on December 8 is scheduled to be implemented in the next eight years.
The controversial project envisages transferring of water from the Ken river to the Betwa river, both tributaries of the Yamuna, through the construction of Daudhan Dam and a canal linking the two rivers. The Canal will be 221 km long, including a 2-km long tunnel. The construction work will take place insidePannatiger reserve, famous worldover for tiger reintroduction programme in 2009.

First-Ever Heli Hub In India
Gurugram will host India’s first Heli Hub. The heli-hub is expected to be built in Gurugram, near a metro station and convenient access to industrial locations such as Noida and Bhiwadi.

The heli-hub will be the first in India, with all helicopter facilities at one location.

This heli-main hub’s function serves as a landing and take-off location for numerous helicopter services in the nation’s capital.
India’s Largest EV Station
Gurgaon now has India’s largest electric vehicle charging station.
Highlights:
On the Delhi-Jaipur National Highway in Gurugram, India’s largest electric vehicle (EV) charging station, with a capacity of 100 charge outlets for four-wheelers, was inaugurated.
Previously, India’s largest EV charging station, with 16 AC and 4 DC charging connections for EVs, was located in Navi Mumbai.
Alektrify Private Limited, a tech-piloting company, created the latest EV charging station.
This EV charging station will not only help the region’s electric vehicle sector, but it will also serve as a model for future major EV charging stations across the country.
This size and scope of the electric vehicle charging stations are uncommon.

PSP-V 2.0: Passport Seva Program
Version 2 of the Passport Seva Program is an expansion of Version 1 of the Passport Seva Program.

The Indian government plans to deploy e-Passports in the near future for citizens renewing or applying for new passports.
The primary goal of e-passports is to increase their security. It will facilitate immigration. It’s a step up from a standard passport.
A chip is included in the E-Passports. The chip contains the holder’s personal information, including biographical information.
Unauthorized data access is prevented as a result of this. National Informatics Centre and IIT Kanpur developed the Software for the E-Passport.
The E-Passports were created in conformity with ICAO guidelines. The International Civil Aviation Organization is known as ICAO.
