MP Transco has succeeded in installing & energizing state’s first 50 MVAR capacity bus reactor at its 220 KV substation Pandhurna (Chhindwara). Madhya Pradesh’s Energy Minister Mr. Pradyuman Singh Tomar congratulated all the related personnel of MP Transco for this achievement and said that inter-state power transmission will be facilitated after the energization of this reactor established at a cost of about Rs 08 crore 67 lakh.

He told that for the first time in Madhya Pradesh, a reactor of 50 M VAR capacity has been energized on a 220 KV bus. With this, where grid discipline can be easily followed, inter-state power exchange from Maharashtra can be controlled through 220 KV V line between Padhunna and Kalameshwar substation of Maharashtra.

To save the Madhya Pradesh Power Transmission Company from paying possible penalty due to reactive power feed and to solve the problem of high voltage in the area, Sanjeev Srivastava, Superintending Engineer of MP Power Transmission Company, designed and developed this reactor, which was used for the first time in the state. Important efforts were made in preparing the tender process including technical parameters, due to which this innovation became possible.
